Culinary Arts Celebration Dinners

Culinary School of the Rockies purposefully chooses not to operate a student-run restaurant. Rather, we believe that the intense, hands-on learning taking place every day in the teaching kitchen is better. We do recognize the value of serving the public. Here's how we do it differently.

Culinary Gala

The Culinary Gala is a great opportunity for you and your classmates to spotlight your talents. You participate in a multidimensional planning process, including theme, menu, cooking methods, plate presentations, wine selections, table setting, room layout, service, timing, audience, and budget. Using Culinary School of the Rockies' "System of Creation", you produce several iterations of each menu item and various plate presentations. This exercise teaches you the logical steps necessary to create menus.

Harvest Dinner at Pastures of Plenty Farm

Join CSR at Pastures of Plenty Farm in Boulder, Colorado, to celebrate the grande finale of the Culinary Arts Farm to Table Externship with a dinner "in the fields". Come meet renowned Colorado chefs, local artisan growers and farmers.

Directions to Pastures of Plenty Farm

1. Take Broadway in Boulder heading north;
2. Take a left on highway 36 and drive 2.4 miles to Neva Rd;
3. Turn right and head about ¼ mile to first gravel road, 39th (across from empty lake on right);
4. Turn left on 39th until it dead ends at Nimbus Rd;
5. Turn right on Nimbus until it dead ends at 41st;
6. Turn left and, HANG ON, and drive until 41st dead ends at Ogallala Rd;
7. Turn left and you'll see yellow farmhouse with tin roof – THAT's IT!

Please park off the road, down near the silos where there is a separate parking lot located behind the silos. Walk on the pathway that leads to the bridge, over the creek, and to our back pastures, where the event will take place.

Celebration in the Field Dinner at Zephyros Farm and Garden

Join Culinary School of the Rockies Farm to Table Program for a Celebration in the Field Dinner at Zephyros Farm and Garden. Students and teacher chefs will prepare an all local feast from the farms, orchards, vineyards and ranches of the North Fork Valley. Local wine served by the glass.
